What ages is ThatTutorBot suitable for?

ThatTutorBot is designed for students in grades 1-6 (ages 5-12), but can be beneficial for learners of all ages who want to improve their vocabulary, writing, and study skills.

Is ThatTutorBot safe for children?

Yes! We take child safety seriously. All AI interactions are moderated, and we require parental consent for users under 15. We comply with data protection regulations and never share personal information with third parties.

What are the subscription tiers?

ThatTutorBot offers two tiers: Free and Pro. Simply register an account and verify your email to get started with the Free tier. No credit card required!

Why is ThatTutorBot free?

We believe that AI can transform education and that every child should have the opportunity to explore and benefit from AI technology in a safe, controlled environment. That's why we've made ThatTutorBot free—to make AI-powered learning accessible to all kids, regardless of their background. We want children to start their AI exploration journey early, developing the skills and confidence they'll need in an AI-driven future.

Why are there daily limits on the Free tier?

While we're committed to keeping ThatTutorBot free, AI usage comes with costs—we pay token fees for every AI interaction. Daily limits help us ensure fair usage for all users while keeping our operational costs sustainable. These limits reset daily, giving you regular opportunities to learn and practice. If you need unlimited access, you can upgrade to Pro tier.

What does Pro tier offer?

Pro tier provides unlimited access to all features with no daily limits. Upgrade to Pro to remove all restrictions and enjoy unlimited vocabulary learning, writing practice, and chat sessions.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile's billing section. You'll continue to have Pro access until the end of your billing period.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the Security section in your profile. We'll permanently delete all your data within 30 days of your request.

Features & Usage

How does the vocabulary spaced repetition work?

We use the FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) algorithm, which optimizes review timing based on your performance. Words you find difficult appear more often, while mastered words appear less frequently.

Can I upload my own documents?

Yes! In ThatVocab, you can upload PDF files and images, and our AI will extract vocabulary words relevant to your grade level.

Does the AI remember my previous conversations?

Yes, if you have "Save Memories" and "Reference Conversations" enabled in your profile. This helps the AI provide more personalized assistance over time.

Can I customize how the AI interacts with me?

Absolutely! In your profile's Personalisation section, you can set custom instructions, choose AI traits (friendly, patient, encouraging, etc.), and even set what the AI should call you.

Privacy & Security

What data do you collect?

We collect only what's necessary: your email, learning progress, conversations for context, and usage statistics. You can export or delete all your data at any time from your profile.

Do you use my data to train AI models?

No. Your personal conversations and data are never used to train AI models. We use OpenAI's API with data usage policies that protect your privacy.

Is my child's information secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices. We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and require parental consent for users under 15.

Technical Issues

The AI isn't responding. What should I do?

Try refreshing the page first. If the issue persists, check your internet connection. If problems continue, contact our support team.

I can't upload files. Why?

Make sure your file is in a supported format (PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG) and under the size limit. Clear your browser cache if the issue persists.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email. We'll send you a reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
